Tamale Pie Casserole

3 tbsp. butter
3 tbsp. oil
1 small minced onion
1 clove minced garlic
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 lb. bulk pork sausage
3-1/2 c. canned tomatoes
2-1/2 c. whole kernel corn
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. chili powder
20 to 24 pitted black olives
1 c. cornmeal
1 c. milk
2 eggs
1-1/4 c. grated cheese

Melt butter and oil in skillet. When hot add onion and garlic, then add ground beef and sausage. Cook till brown. Add tomatoes, corn , salt, chili powder to meat mixture and pour into a 11x7 oblong baking dish. Press olives throughout. Next combine cornmeal, milk and eggs in bowl until well beaten. Pour batter on top of meat mixture. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake at 350 for 1 hour. Serves 8 - 10.
